The pressure to get preschool "right" makes many parents anxious. Not to worry. We are here for you! Come learn about the variety of Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool programs. You will have the opportunity to talk with the teaching staff about the preschool programs, the curriculum, and their classrooms. Learn about the variety of options available so you can find the best fit for your child. Plus, you'll gain early access to online registration. The evening is an adult-only night and is open to all families with preschool-aged children (age three or four by September 1, 2023). There is no cost to attend. However, we ask you to register in advance so we can prepare materials for everyone. Schedule of events depending on which class you register for: 4:30-5 p.m. OR 6:30-7 p.m. - Preschool staff presentations 5-5:30 p.m. OR 7-7:30 p.m. - Classroom visits 5:30-6 p.m. OR 7:30-8 p.m. - Online registration Additional information about Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool programs can be found on our website - ahschools.us/preschool.

Three-year-old preschool Half-day preschool classes with two or three day class options - parents provide transportation. Open to families with a child three years of age by September 1, 2023. NOTE: For registrations beginning September 2, 2023 Thank you for your interest in Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool program. Although registration started in March, there is still availability in some classes. Your registration will go to holding status until our staff can review the registration then scan our sites for availability. When a match to one of your preferred classes is found, you will be contacted so the registration can be completed and your child's start date can be confirmed. If no match is made, you will be contacted for another possible option. From September 2 to 17, registrations will not be processed while staff prepare for the start of the school year. Registrations will be processed in order of the date they were received beginning September 18 with the preschool start dates beginning the week of September 25. Tuition assistance / sliding tuition scale Knowing the financial strain that tuition may place on a family's budget, a sliding tuition scale is available for three-year-old preschool. Based on income and family size, tuition is reduced from 25 percent up to no tuition. Proof of income is not required at the time of registration in order to receive tuition assistance however, it may be requested during an annual audit. Review the chart below for eligibility.

Option 2 - Four-year-old preschool - Option 2 Free, half-day (2.75 hours/day) every day preschool option with transportation included. No income eligibility guidelines. Option 2 is open to families who are: Residents of the Anoka-Hennepin School District* for a child four years of age by September 1, 2023 AND Live in or attend child care in the attendance areas of the schools listed below: Verify your school attendance area before continuing. * If you are not a resident of the Anoka Hennepin School District or if your elementary school is not included on the above list, you are not eligible to register for option 2 - review other Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool options. Student class placement Specific class placement for morning or afternoon classes is based on school district bus routes. Families will be notified of their child’s preschool class schedule before August 2023. Registrations are welcome throughout the year and will be placed as space is available until classes are full. Class schedule Classes are held Monday-Friday with both morning and afternoon sessions. Classes closely align with the Anoka-Hennepin School District calendar. Meals As part of the USDA Free and Reduced School Meals Program, children attending preschool in the morning will be served breakfast. Children attending preschool in the afternoon will be served lunch.
