If you are 55 or older, save money on your car insurance premiums and become a better driver! Minnesota law requires that insurance companies offer a 10% reduction on auto insurance for three years if you complete a state-approved defensive driving course taught by professional, certified instructors. This course is held via zoom - no driving or test required. At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate of completion from the Minnesota Safety Council to provide to your insurance agent. Eligible UCare members may receive an allowance to spend toward community education classes. Members must have UCare insurance at the time of registration. Limits and restrictions may apply. Intro to BMX Racing – Rum River BMX Discover the thrill of BMX racing! Our fun and inclusive Intro to BMX is designed for new riders that can pedal a bike—no prior experience or USA BMX membership required. BMX racing is a great way for kids and adults alike to stay active, build confidence, develop life skills, and most importantly, have fun! In this hands-on course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of the sport, including, what BMX is, types of bikes, and safety. And yes—you’ll get on the track! Students will receive personalized riding instruction and get the chance to practice on our professionally maintained BMX course. No bike? No problem! We provide a fleet of HARO race bikes and full-face helmets in various sizes. All you need to bring is: Long pants- Long sleeves -Closed-toe athletic shoes Come ready to ride, learn, and connect with others in a positive, high-energy environment. Let’s hit the track! Winter 2025/26 Pre-School Gymnastics - 4 and 5 year olds Join coaches from the Anoka Gymnastics family for an awesome class. You will learn safe, developmental gymnastics with a focus on strength and technique. Instructors will work to get to know each gymnast and help them move forward with their strength and skills! Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers learning and enrichment opportunities in the water for adults. Whether you want to learn to swim, improve your stroke technique or burn a few calories, Roosevelt Community Pool provides a variety of lessons, activities and classes for adults to enjoy. Adult aquatic exercise: Take advantage of the unique benefits of water exercise. Adult swimming lessons: Learn to swim - no matter what your age or skill level. Adult Lap Swimming & Water Walking: Keep up a fitness regime. Please note, Anoka-Hennepin Community Education's registration policy is the following: any class cancellations must be done five business days before the class begins and there is a $10 processing fee. If the Anoka-Hennepin School District closes for snow or a cold day, all community education programming is closed for that day too. We will post it on our Facebook page or if you are registered, see below. For those who register for a session (not drop-in): If we have a class cancellation for any reason (snow day, instructor ill, etc.) you will receive a refund for the missing day. You can opt into text messages, which will alert you to a last-minute cancellation. You will only receive a text message for this scenario, we do not text anything else.

Activities and classes are held in schools and local businesses throughout the school district's geographic area and online.

The Adults with Special Needs program (also known as "Project Power") provides specialized classes for adults with disabilities, offering accommodation services for all program participants. Activities and classes offer educational, recreational and social activities for participants that practice life skills to increase independence, communication, and community integration. Activities and classes are offered in a wide range of styles and formats to meet the needs of students, including arts and crafts; cooking and dining; health and safety; music and theater; recreation, athletics and exercise. Now that you've mastered the basic soap making process, it's time to take on the advanced artistic component of swirling and pouring different patterns! Age-specific classes are offered to help families learn about challenges and opportunities that come with parenting children at each age and stage, while children can interact with peers that have similar developmental skills. Each class includes parent/child time, learning activities for children and parent discussion. The age of the child attending the class must fall within the guidelines during the first week that the class is held.
