This program is for participants in 6th-12th grades. The prerequisites for this program are:

-knowledge of competitive strokes

-ability to swim 50 yards (2 lengths to the pool)

The following guidelines will need to be followed in order to participate in the program:

  • The participant may enter the pool facility five minutes prior to class.
  • The participant should come dressed to swim if possible. The participant is allowed goggles, swim cap, towel, warm-ups, flip-flops/sandals and a plastic water bottle (must be a screw top). 
  • Do not share equipment. Please bring the following: googles, kickboard*, and pull buoy*. If you do not have these*, they can be checked out to you for the class. Googles and swim caps are available for purchase.
  • The participant must leave five minutes after the class ends.
  • If the participant is not feeling well, PLEASE do not come to class.

No partial or pro-rated fees for absences/ vacations/ etc.

    This program is for participants in Middle School, High School, and college. The prerequisite for this program is: participants must be able to swim 50 continuous yards of freestyle and backstroke, 25 yards of breaststroke or passed Level 4. This program is coached by: Jamie Law - 32 years coaching high school swimming in MN: 8 athletes have earned All-American Honors 23 athletes have earned MN All-State Honors 7 athletes were MN State Meet Champions 10 individual and 1 relay MN State Meet Champions 3 athletes competed in Olympic trials Carole Weiland - Carole started swimming competitively when she was eight years old and continues to compete with Minnesota Masters Swimming. She currently holds three MN Master's records in the 200 yard breaststroke, the 800 meter freestyle, and the 4X2100 yard medley relay. She is also an active member of the triathlon community and has raced in every distance from sprints to Ironman and has competed in the United States Triathlon National's competitions. Carole has coached countless swimmers through club swimming, YMCA team swimming, and our summer maintenance program. Many of her swimmers have competed at the state level, college level, and national level. She also coached for Coon Rapids High School Girls Swim Team. The following guidelines will need to be followed in order to participate in the program: The participant may enter the pool facility five minutes prior to class. Please bring the following: water bottle, googles, kickboard*, and pull buoy*. If you do not have these*, they can be checked out to you for the program duration.   • Competitive Swim Training

    This program is for participants in 6th-12th grades. The prerequisite for this program is: participants must be able to swim 50 continuous yards of freestyle and backstroke, 25 yards of breaststroke or passed Level 4. The following guidelines will need to be followed in order to participate in the program: The participant may enter the pool facility five minutes prior to class. There will be limited locker room usage. Participants are encouraged to bring a bag for their clothes to bring out on the pool deck or they can bring a lock to lock up their belongings. The participant should bring the following: goggles, swim cap, towel, and a plastic water bottle. Please bring the following: googles, kickboard*, and pull buoy*. If you do not have these, you may use the ones provided by Roosevelt. Googles are available for purchase. The participant must be picked up within five minutes after the program is done, as the facility will be closing. This is a drop off and pick up program. If the participant is not feeling well, PLEASE do not come to class. This program is done on a monthly basis. You must register for each month independently to be registered. This includes: Monday & Wednesday Evenings swim practice with coaching Saturday Optional Swim with workout - Drop-in any time between 9:30-11:30am. to complete the posted workout.
