Simple Sauerkraut at Home

Fall is harvest time and sauerkraut is a great way to preserve cabbage. This class is a great fermentation starting point and perfect for anyone who wants an introduction to basic fermentation. Fermented foods offer gut-healing goodness when prepared in traditional methods. Includes an introduction to fermented vegetables, all the supplies to make your first batch of sauerkraut in class, step-by-step instructions, recipes for other types of sauerkraut, and three samples of different sauerkraut's. Supply fee of $20 cash paid to instructor at class.

Eligible UCare members may receive an allowance to spend toward community education classes. Members must have UCare insurance at the time of registration. Limits and restrictions may apply. Contact UCare for further information.

Heather Carpentier is a Health and Wellness Consultant who pursued certification as a Nutrition Consultant through Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Arts, a Certified Nutrition Expert from the Academy of Culinary Nutrition and is a Certified GAPS Practitioner. She shares her passion forhealth and wellness with others through personalized service that educates the client on foods thatnourish their body, maximizing nutrient-rich foods.
