Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers to meet mandatory state license renewal requirements.

NOTE: Participants must be visible to the presenter during the session, both for feedback but also to ensure attendance. Attendance will be taken within a Google Form, and the resulting spreadsheet sent to Lisa Norling at the ESC. The Google Form will request participant name, employee number, and a question regarding how this session was/will be impactful to the work of the attendee. Registration closes at noon on the day class is scheduled or until it fills. Classes will be cancelled if minimum registration of 10 participants is not met.

  • Early Warning Signs for Mental Illness

    Gain an understanding of the impact of mental health on student academic success. Learn to identify key warning signs and symptoms of common mental health disorders in children/adolescents and to know your role. Appropriate for educators wanting a better understanding of behavioral and emotional challenges present in their classroom. Meets Minnesota Department of Education licensure requirements for mental health training.   • Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies

    Proactive behavior strategies to enhance classroom management and instruction. Staff will develop skills to promote positive student behavior in their classroom, trainers will focus on the prevention of challenging behaviors, as well as strategies to respond when challenging behavior occurs.
