About Age-Specific

Age-specific classes are offered to help families learn about challenges and opportunities that come with parenting children at each age and stage, while children can interact with peers that have similar developmental skills. Each class includes parent/child time, learning activities for children and parent discussion. The age of the child attending the class must fall within the guidelines during the first week that the class is held.

  • Gearing Up for Kindergarten - In Person

** To register for this parenting series your child must be registered for Kindergarten in Anoka-Hennepin Schools for the 2025-26 school year. Sign up for the session that fits your schedule, not your attendance area. Each session is separate, you do not need to attend all of them. Kindergarten age children are welcome at this event. Join PreK-Grade 3 parent educators for a fun-filled gathering to connect with other incoming kindergarten families while children play at the playground! This will be a chance to ask questions, share information, and receive resources to make the transition to kindergarten as smooth and stress-free as possible. Your parent educators will have information to support your family’s transition. Come for the play, stay for the support! These events are for incoming kinderdergarten students and their parent(s). No sibling care will be provided. In case of rain, make-up dates will be Aug. 5th or 6th.
