Anoka-Hennepin preschool classes are intentionally designed to be 2.75 to 3 hours in length to maximize developmentally appropriate learning and ensure that each child has the skills they need to be a successful learner.

  9. We align with A-H Schools Kindergarten and collaborate with Kindergarten teachers.

  • Four-year-old Preschool: Scholarship/Tuition Assistance

    Four-year-old preschool: Scholarship/Tuition Assistance Most classes are 2.75 hours per day with morning and afternoon options Two, three, four, or five days per week Limited 3 hour, four days per week classes available Parents provide transportation for students qualifying for partial tuition assistance Limited transportation to four and five day per week classes is be available for students who meet Minnesota Department of Education full scholarship eligibility guidelines. Class location and time determined by transportation availability and routing. Four-year-old preschool classes are open to all families with a child four years of age on or before September 1, 2026 (Birthdate: September 2, 2021 to September 1, 2022). Anoka-Hennepin residents are prioritized for full scholarship funding provided through Pathway II scholarship and Voluntary Prekindergarten funding. Families who live outside of Anoka-Hennepin School District boundaries can register after the initial registration lottery on April 16, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. Verify your Anoka-Hennepin Schools attendance area before continuing. Tuition assistance is based on income and family size Full scholarship eligibility is based on family size and income and/or other Minnesota Department of Education eligibility criteria/risk factors. A completed scholarship application and income verification documents are required before your registration can be completed. Student class placement Specific class placement is based on class availability and school district bus routes. Registrations are welcome throughout the year and will be placed as space is available until all classes are full. Meals Some four and five day per week classes include a heavy snack, breakfast, or lunch depending on the class location and time.
  • Preschool Information Sessions

    Choosing the right preschool for your child is important. We are excited to partner with you as you explore the Preschool options that Anoka-Hennepin Schools has to offer. During this FREE event you will learn more about Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool and the options available for your child. You will have the opportunity to watch an informative video that highlights the preschool curriculum, classroom routines and parents perspective. You will receive information about Early Childhood Screening, there will be time to ask questions and get support with the registration process (in-person sessions). We offer three times for you to choose from. Registration is required. Schedule of events depending on which class you register for: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - This is a virtual session. Please email the Preschool office at preschool@ahschools.us if you would like to schedule a classroom tour or need assistance registering. 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. - This is an in-person session. The information presented at this session is intended for parents/caregivers. If you need to bring your child, there will not be child care available. 6 to 7:00 p.m. - This is an in-person session. The information presented at this session is intended for parents/caregivers. This is a parent/caregiver session only. Please find alternative care for your child(ren).
