About Age-specific classes

Age-specific classes are offered to help families learn about challenges and opportunities that come with parenting children at each age and stage, while children can interact with peers that have similar developmental skills. Each class includes parent/child time, learning activities for children and parent discussion. The age of the child attending the class must fall within the guidelines during the first week that the class is held.

  • Gearing Up for Kindergarten

    Entering kindergarten is a major transition in the life of a child as well as parents and guardians. Academic and social expectations of children entering kindergarten have changed in recent years. Gain support in your role of preparing your child for success in school. Class focus is on math and literacy skills, social and emotional development, and the parent/guardian role in school success.You and your child will participate in: Activities specifically designed to engage your child in learning. Group activities preparing your child for the classroom. Discussion time pertaining to transitions, kindergarten and child development. Classroom environment where your child will be with a teacher and other children engaging in learning activities and play. Take-home activities designed to reinforce concepts taught in class. Designed for parents/guardians and children who will enter kindergarten fall of 2018. Sibling care is available for children age birth through four.
