  • Leaded Stained Glass Panel

**NOTE: This class has a LOCATION CHANGE from catalog - class will be held at Northdale Middle School** This is a new class in an “old” craft. A leaded stained-glass window uses an “H” shaped channel made of lead to hold the individual pieces of glass together and it is only soldered at the joints. You will learn techniques for scoring and breaking glass, cutting and bending the lead channel, and soldering. Finish the class with a piece that can be hung and enjoyed for years to come. All the tools and supplies needed will be discussed at the first class and cost between $150-$200. There will be ten to twelve beginner patterns to choose from. Students should have taken at least a suncatcher class or a beginner's stained glass class in the past, either from this instructor or somewhere else. Eligible UCare members may receive an allowance to spend toward community education classes. Members must have UCare insurance at the time of registration. Limits and restrictions may apply. Contact UCare for further information.

Choose from a variety of patterns and glass to personalize your creations. All the tools and supplies are provided. In the first session, students learn how to score the glass and break it. In the second session, we will apply a thin copperfoil to the edge and solder everything together. Students will have time to complete 3-4 items.
