Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers a wide variety of activities and classes for adults ages 18 and up, including technology, home improvement, recreation, athletics, fitness, arts, hobbies and more. The Adults with Special Needs program (also known as "Project Power") provides specialized classes for adults with disabilities, offering accommodation services for all program participants. Adventures Plus is the school-age child care program of the Anoka-Hennepin School District. Community Education offers a wide range of aquatic opportunities for community members of all ages, including swimming lessons, water exercise, competitive swim training, American Red Cross certification courses, and recreational open swim opportunities. ECFE offers classes and programs to support families with babies, toddlers, and children up to grade three. Community Education provides a wide variety of athletic, academic and enrichment programs at individual elementary, middle and high schools. Whether you want to learn to swim, improve your stroke technique or burn a few calories, Roosevelt Community Pool provides options. Roosevelt Community Pool offers a variety of aquatic programs. These may be one day or multi-day programs intended to enrich the aquatic experience of all ages. This swim maintenance program is geared to swimmers ages 11-18. This is a great way for swim team athletes to get in shape for their season or to maintain during the off-season. Open swim session includes shallow end with basketball hoop, lap lanes, deep water swim section, and one diving board open. To familiarize young children (from ages 6 months to 3 years) to the water and prepare them to learn to swim in the American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics or Learn-to-Swim courses. Art exploration, books, stories, active play, songs, rhymes and lots of fun! Playtime will enhance small and large motor skills, self-esteem and social skills, plus there are new friends for everyone! With a need for family connections and parenting education as children transition into elementary school, ECFE offers workshops and parenting resources for families with children from preschool through early elementary school years. ECFE classes during the preschool years strengthen parent-child interactions while promoting children's social, emotional, and language development.
