  • AT/Rec - Nitro X Summer Camp - Learn, Test, Driver

    2024 NitroX Camp - Learn, Test, Drive A Summer Camp for Middle School Students During this camp, students will work on remote controlled cars, gain exposure to transportation careers while touring local businesses and become aware of employment skills. Campers will discover new technical skills, and have fun making new friends while working in teams. Camp culminates with an exciting race day on Thursday Through hands-on learning participants will: - Tune and race remote-controlled electric cars - Modify & tune suspension systems, tires and wheels - Disassemble and reassemble engines - Paint and customize remote-controlled cars bodies - Tour local automotive repair facilities - Showcase new knowledge and excitement on race day WHO: Students who will be 7th and 8th grades in fall of 2024 WHEN: Monday through Thursday - June 10 - 13, 2024 WHERE: Anoka Technical College TIME: 8:30 am - 3:00 pm (lunch provided) FEE: $165/participant (includes lunch, shirts, and transportation to field trips).     Come and join us for the Hollywood nights- Out with '28 8th grade party at AMSA. Price includes food and beverages. Open to 8th graders only who currently attend AMSA. Must have ID to Enter.
  • MS - Aviation Club

    Do you like flying airplanes? Want to learn how to fly a real radio controlled airplane? Then join the Jackson Aviation Club and get hands-on experience with our cool RC airplanes! Learn the ins and outs of the aviation world. You will have plenty of 1 on 1 instructor time to help you with assembly and flying. You will use the Jackson Middle School flight simulator and school owned airplanes. Then the last day is the field trip to grassfield on June 4. You will need to provide your own transportation. Mr. Pettman will send out directions. June 4th is a field trip day. More information to follow.
  • MS - Baseball

    In this competitive baseball league, players will learn the skills and strategies of baseball with an emphasis on participation, teamwork and safety. Teams practice after school and compete against other Anoka-Hennepin middle schools. Games will be played on weekdays between 4:00-6:00 pm. Activity bus available M-Th.
  • MS - Cupcake Wars

    Have you ever decorated a cup cake with buttercream? Do you like competitions? Team-up with friends, or make new friends in class, and let the fun begin! You and your teammates will brainstorm ideas and then apply a base coat of buttercream icing to your cup cake. You will enjoy learning how to use an array of edible decorations to create a variety of designs for your masterpiece! Who can make the most creative cup cakes? Who will win?

    Get out on the diamond and play some wiffleball, kickball and stickball while making friends and having some spring fun! You don't need anything extra to play these traditional playground games, you just have to show up!
  • MS - Earth Day Clean Up/Furry Friends Service Day

    In this new class, we aim to engage participants in meaningful activities focused on environmental conservation and animal welfare. Here's what you can expect from the Earth Day/Furry Friends Service Day: Half of the session will be dedicated to exploring environmental issues and discovering various ways to contribute to the well-being of our planet. Activities will include projects centered around reducing, reusing, and recycling materials. The other half of the session will focus on being a friend to animals in our community. Participants will have the opportunity to create toys for dogs, cats, and birds, among other activities aimed at supporting the furry friends in our midst. This event is proudly sponsored by the CPHS Leo Club, and we are thrilled to offer this unique opportunity for children to make a positive impact on both the environment and the lives of animals.

  • MS - Family Fun Hayride

    Gather your family and friends and pile on for a fun-filled hayride pulled by a team of gentle draft horses. Meet at Bunker Park Stables, 550 Bunker Lake Blvd, Andover at 5:45 p.m. Check-in between 5:45-6:00 p.m. and then a hayride from 6:00-7:00 pm. Dress appropriately for the weather. (Children age 3 and under free.)

  • MS - Howling with the Wolves

    Join us at the Wildlife Science Center, the areas premier wildlife facility, to learn about some of Minnesota's most fascinating animals. Resident wolves, mountain lions, coyotes, foxes, lynx and raptors will be the focus of this informative program.     Interested in remote control (RC) cars and trucks? Want to try racing them on a track? Then come join us for some fun as we explore what makes RC cars and trucks work and then try them out. You will test out your driving skills and gain a better understanding of how RC cars and trucks operate.
  • MS - Skateboard Art: Inspiration In Motion

    Artist Mark Rivard, former Monroe, Jackson, & CPHS Graduate is back to another Skateboard seminar! This is a program that promotes social engagement, creativity, storytelling, and packs an inspirational message in a one on one instructional format from artist Mark Rivard. Mark’s original skateboards quickly manifested into a brand and an international endorsement campaign with Sharpie, and his unique educational program quickly followed. His unique life story and path to success naturally became a motivational tale that he has shared at over 1,000 schools and organizations globally. At the end of this 1 session class you will be taking home a one of a kind original art skateboard designed by you!   • MS - Young Engineers ROBOTICS & STEM Program - Valley Fair Park Machines

    In the last session of the 2023-24 school year, learn about aerodynamics and importance, elastic energy, renewable energy and other concepts, while independently building working motorized models of the North Star Carousel, Xtreme Swing Pirate Ship, Maze ride, Giant Ferris Wheel and other rides. e2 Young Engineers offers an internationally acclaimed Robotics and STEAM education program taught in 50+ countries. This program is recognized by Harvard School of Education, New York School of Education, European Union and others as leaders in robotics and science education in the world. This is a problem and project-based learning program where students learn about new Robotics and STEAM concepts in every class and apply those concepts by building unique and different operational robots and machines in every class.
