Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers a wide variety of activities and classes for adults ages 18 and up, including technology, home improvement, recreation, athletics, fitness, arts, hobbies and more. The Adults with Special Needs program (also known as "Project Power") provides specialized classes for adults with disabilities, offering accommodation services for all program participants. Adventures Plus is the school-age child care program of the Anoka-Hennepin School District. Community Education offers a wide range of aquatic opportunities for community members of all ages, including swimming lessons, water exercise, competitive swim training, American Red Cross certification courses, and recreational open swim opportunities. ECFE offers classes, home visits and programs offer support for families with babies, toddlers, and children up to grade three. Early Childhood Screening is a FREE developmental screening required for all children age 3-5, by the State of Minnesota prior to entry in kindergarten and some early childhood programs. Anoka-Hennepin Parent Involvement promotes partnerships, based on the belief that parents are their children's most important teacher. We offer a wide variety of resources to meet the changing needs and interests of parents and families. Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers preschool classes, which prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. Our preschool curriculum is aligned with the Anoka-Hennepin Schools kindergarten curriculum. Community Education provides a wide variety of athletic, academic and enrichment programs at individual elementary, middle and high schools. Activities and classes are offered for children in preschool through grade eight. Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers learning and enrichment opportunities in the water for adults. Whether you want to learn to swim, improve your stroke technique or burn a few calories, Roosevelt Community Pool provides options. This swim maintenance program is geared to swimmers ages 11-18. This is a great way for swim team athletes to get in shape for their season or to maintain during the off-season. Open swim session includes shallow end with basketball hoop, lap lanes, deep water swim section, and one diving board open. To familiarize young children (from ages 6 months to 3 years) to the water and prepare them to learn to swim in the American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics or Learn-to-Swim courses. Youth activities and classes for ages 4 to 17 years old. Infant classes are a collection of courses focused on the essential topics you need to know as a parent. What is Playtime? Art exploration, books, stories, active play, songs, rhymes and lots of fun! Playtime will enhance small and large motor skills, self-esteem and social skills, plus there are new friends for everyone! Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers preschool classes, which prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. Our preschool curriculum is closely aligned with the Anoka-Hennepin Schools kindergarten curriculum. Anoka-Hennepin Schools offers a summer preschool program for children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2022. |
