I was born and raised in Minnesota. As an adult, I have lived in Colorado, California and Minnesota. I love to read and to bake. I have worked with children and adults with special needs for 10 years. I have been working with Project Power since 2015. I have probably taught almost every class in Project Power at this point, and supervised a whole lot of field trips! I absolutely love working with anyone with special needs. It brings me joy working with them, and seeing all the smiles on everyone’s faces each time we are together. We have so much fun!

I am a graphic artist by trade and I have a black belt in karate. I love photography, woodworking and crafting. I started teaching classes for Community Education about 10 years ago but I have been teaching others since I was twelve. Learning something everyday and passing it forward is my motto. The classes I teach are karate, self-defense, woodworking, jewelry making and other crafts. My father has always encouraged me to learn and share my life experiences with others to enrich their lives. He would say “If you can do something 100% you can give 115%, maybe more”. Favorite class memories include laughter, smiles, the realization of them being able to accomplish more than they think they can, and to remember what participants when I talk to them from one class to another and they remember what they were taught. Seeing my students leave with a sense of accomplishment and having fun makes it the greatest job in the world to me.
