Have you ever wanted to try oil painting, but didn’t know where to start? Start here! Jay Rupp, a certified Bob Ross instructor, will guide you step-by-step as you paint a beautiful portrait. All supplies will be provided. Wear paint-appropriate clothing and bring a bag lunch. Wooden picture frames are available for purchase after class (optional).

The quickest way to become a really good artist is to take a class. It's a wonderful fun time of just "following the leader." I paint blue sky; you paint blue sky. That's easy. Now put in a nice fluffy cloud to dress up the picture. The lake comes next using the sky colors and looks pretty much like an upside down sky.We always paint from "far away" in the picture to "close up." It's really pretty easy. I can't tell you any more of my secrets or you won't come to my class.I am a retired Family Medical Physician having worked at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Faith Hospital in Alaska also was a fantastic place to work as well as 15 years in Kenya, East Africa in a missionary hospital.I have a particular fascination with animals and enjoy being an amateur taxidermist specializing in fish, birds, and big game animals. Painting animals is a natural outgrowth from my taxidermy interests. (Make sure the eyes are done right in taxidermy as well as painting)The longer artists paint, the more creative we seem to become. Let's paint together some time and you will go home with a treasured masterpiece that will be handed down by your kids for generations.
