Kids, parents and cookies! Designed for kids age six and up, you will create and take home six kinds of cookies. Rolled Sugar Thins will be ready for decorating with food coloring and paint brushes. Mix, shape and bake Peanut Butter Balls and already mixed and ready for shaping will be Chocolate Mint, Peppernuts, Sugar Drops, and Spritz cookies to be dipped and decorated. Bring containers to transport your cookies home. Supply fee of $16/pair cash paid to instructor at class. Price is per pair.

Laurel Severson is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a double major in Home Economics and Education. She has worked in businesses throughout her career focusing on food – beginning with editing a series of 12 international cookbooks, testing recipes, and editing a British cookbook. Laurel worked at 3M for 30 years supervising the executive dining room, a snack bar, employees buffet, conference dining rooms and the special events such as retirement parties and 25 year anniversary parties before transferring into hospital foodservice and then the hotel industry. Laurel currently works in many Community Education districts throughout the metro area teaching participation cooking classes. She has traveled extensively including living in the Philippines for one year and in London for two years. An avid collector of cookbooks, Laurel generously shares culinary tips with students. She entertains extensively in her 1882 home and is an energetic volunteer within her St. Paul community. For example, one volunteer project includes heading up the kitchen crew to feed 500 for a spaghetti supper fundraiser.
