Quilt Block 101

Have you admired quilts and want to learn how they are made? It starts with quilt blocks. Join us for this introductory class where Sandra will walk you through a step-by-step process to create four quilt blocks including an Ohio Star, Nine Patch, Pinwheel, and Fence Rail. Leave class with instructions on turning your blocks into mug rugs or a wall hanging. Bring supplies listed online. Basic sewing skills required. $15 supply fee paid to instructor for fabric.

Bring to class: 

     •White, all-purpose thread 

     •Fabric scissors 

     •Rotary cutter and mat 

     •Acrylic Ruler 

     •Pins

Sandra Bengtson

Instructor

Sandra S.Bengtson, owner of Avant Garb Fashions, was fortunate to learn how to sew by her mother at age eight. Decades later, Sandra’s passion for sewing has paved the way to fulfilling a lifelong dream; teaching others. As her mother did for her, Sandra is committed to spread her love of sewing. Sandra believes that providing a warm, inclusive classroom environment with fun and laughter, maximizes the learning experience and may even foster new friendships.
