Firearms: Hunter Safety

Youth Activities and Classes / Youth 6th to 8th grade / Health and Safety -
Youth - Spring 2025

This is the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources class that those born after 1979 must have to obtain a hunting or trapping license. Even if you don’t plan on being a hunter, this class will increase your knowledge of outdoor ethics, wildlife, survival skills, and firearms safety. This class also satisfies the requirements of other states. You MUST be 11 years old by the first night of class (no exceptions), have parental or guardian permission, attend all four sessions plus the assigned range day in order to complete this course. While we encourage parents to attend class with their student, completion certificates will be issued only to those born after 1979.
