I started pollinator gardening several years ago, when the monarch population decline was making news. After I added two types of milkweed to my garden, I saw the monarch population in my yard explode, with eggs, newborn caterpillars, and lots of butterflies! I spent the next several years perfecting my monarch-raising, including moving the entire operation indoors to avoid parasites that killed many of my caterpillars. I've learned a lot over the years and now have expanded my operation to include raising and releasing black swallowtail butterflies.
