    Pour painting is an innovative way to use acrylic paint to create an art piece. Learn the process of mixing acrylic paints with other materials to give it a more fluid consistency so that it can be poured directly onto a canvas.   • Advanced Soap Making

    Now that you've mastered the basic soap making process, it's time to take on the advanced artistic component of swirling and pouring different patterns! Instructor Trevor Keyler will demonstrate various techniques before it's your turn to create your own beautiful soap designs. At the end of class, you will be going home with a full size mold (and the 8-10 bars you make in class!) along with a booklet on how to complete the patterns discussed.     Barn quilts tell stories of farms, families, historical events and communities, and painting them has become a popular and rewarding artistic experience. Instructor Cynthia Buchholz will guide you through the process from start to finish and you’ll create a barn quilt that looks professional and represents your creative expression! With a weatherproof 2 foot by 2 foot aluminum composite panel, over 60 high quality paints and all other materials provided, you will leave with your own masterpiece ready to hang and be admired at your home, building or business.   • Beginner Stained Glass Copper Foil Panel

    This class is designed for beginners who are interested in trying their hand at making stained glass. All the tools, glass and supplies are provided. Students will choose from a few simple patterns designed to teach the basics steps of following a pattern, cutting glass, grinding glass, copperfoiling and soldering. We try to make it easy and fun so you will enjoy the process of creating something beautiful that you can take home and hang in your window. Bring your own safety glasses and see the description of appropriate clothing to wear to class. Please wear clothing with a smooth hard finished surface, like denim or t-shirt knit. Glass chips will stick in sweaters, fleece or lace. Best to wear shirts with a high neckline. Shoes should not have open toes, or open tops (like a slip-on), also leather is better than a mesh that would catch glass chips.   • Leaded Stained Glass Panel

    **NOTE: This class has a LOCATION CHANGE from catalog - class will be held at Northdale Middle School** This is a new class in an “old” craft. A leaded stained-glass window uses an “H” shaped channel made of lead to hold the individual pieces of glass together and it is only soldered at the joints. You will learn techniques for scoring and breaking glass, cutting and bending the lead channel, and soldering. Finish the class with a piece that can be hung and enjoyed for years to come. All the tools and supplies needed will be discussed at the first class and cost between $150-$200. There will be ten to twelve beginner patterns to choose from. Students should have taken at least a suncatcher class or a beginner's stained glass class in the past, either from this instructor or somewhere else.
