Join instructor Jeremy Ross from Your Bearded Artist at Victory Links Golf Course in Blaine as he guides you step-by-step through the process of creating a painting on a 16 x 20 inch canvas with acrylic paint. No experience necessary! Participants are welcome to purchase food and drinks at the snack shack. All supplies included. Pour painting is an innovative way to use acrylic paint to create an art piece. Learn the process of mixing acrylic paints with other materials to give it a more fluid consistency so that it can be poured directly onto a canvas. What better place to learn to draw than in the park? Educator and artist, MaryLeah Marshall, will provide guidance as you develop your drawing skills focusing on line, shape, value, space and texture while using nature and the outdoors as your frame of reference. Learn to design and mosaic a sign or table with beautiful precut glass, and stencils (if needed), in two fun evenings. The signs vary in size. Popular ideas include welcome, your address or the state of MN. The second night is grouting and learning more about mosaics and supplies. The table is 16 in. tall and the top is 16 in. x 16 in. and is $70. Signs are $16+. Make a birdbath using a terra cotta tray and mosaic tiles. The birdbath is both functional and a beautiful, artistic garden accent. Discuss which wrought iron stand is the best, that can be purchased in local home improvement stores. Wear old clothes! Supply fee of $25 cash paid to instructor at class. Did you know that hand embroidery has been practiced around the world for centuries and includes over 300 different stitches? Join us for this introductory class where you’ll learn 10 basic stitches including the Running, Back, Chain, and Blanket stitch, a French Knot, and more. Learn how to create a gazing ball to add some sparkle to your garden! Stencils and idea books are available during this two-evening class.
